Inkjet Series

These paintings are a series of small works that i have created through the manipulation of existing paintings on my computer, and output on my faulty inkjet printer. Each source image has been edited and broken down into a primarily cyan, primarily yellow and primarily magenta version, that are then printed over each other on canvas paper fed through my printer multiple times in different orientations. I then mount each 'painting' to a wooden frame built specifically for each image. They are similar to the Contingency series in their connection to technical reproduction, originality and appropriation. No two paintings are ever the same despite the fact that they come from the same source image and are produced by the same machine using the same process.
